Jewelry IV Jewelry for Experts: Laminated Metal Bracelet Project April 28 – 30, 2023
April 28 @ 9:00 am - April 30 @ 4:00 pm
$650.00
Prerequisite: Jewelry I, II and III or similar experience – please contact the studio with questions.
Jewelry IV will build on all the skills learned in Jewelry I, II, and III. Multi-metal lamination is a type of “faux” married metal technique which produces a more whimsical and painterly effect than the hard edge, highly graphic marriage of metal. Unlike the marriage of metal project, this is a technique where designs appear to float over other patterns and shapes.
The process starts by laying various cut out shapes of one metal onto a contrasting metal base late. The shapes are then soldered onto the base plate.
Next the piece is rolled through a rolling mill. The resulting illusion is of a single piece of metal with patterns of different colored metal “inlaid” into the surface. Our finished metal will then be utilized into a bracelet, earrings, or a pendant.
