Project option #1:
Advanced Cloisonne – The focus will be on enameling on curved surfaces: square beads, trillium shaped beads, and spheres. Metalsmithing techniques for mounting and finishing will also be covered. Some prior knowledge of metalsmithing techniques will be necessary to mount and finish completed enamel pieces.
Project option #2:
Champleve – A pierced design will be created in a sheet of fine silver using a jeweler’s saw. The pierced sheet will then be soldered to a second sheet of fine silver. The wells formed when the two sheets are joined will be filled with powdered glass/enamel. The piece will then be fired in a jeweler’s kiln to melt the powdered glass/enamel. Metalsmithing techniques for mounting and finishing will also be covered.
