I am one of the few in this field who has the ability to draw on two aspects of my career: the market and formal art education. I borrow from both in my teaching approach.

My years of shows allow me to pursue time-honored technical skills related to most aspects of metalsmithing, while my years in academia have shown me how to get a personal vision as it relates to a student’s own direction.

By combining the two, I am able to help a student achieve a sense of pride and accomplishment in their own work.
